of
the
much-awaited
films
of
the
pan-India
star
Prabhas,
met
an
unexpected
response
at
the
box
office
in
India
and
overseas
after
it
hit
the
screens
on
June
16.
The
epic
mythological
saga
of
Ramayana,
written
by
Valmiki,
became
a
point
of
controversy.
The
story
of
Ram,
Sita,
and
Hanuman,
along
with
Lakshmana
during
their
Vanavas,
was
depicted
on
the
silver
screen
with
the
help
of
technology
by
co-producer
and
director
Om
Raut.
The
makers
at
T-Series
and
Retrophiles,
who
produced
one
of
the
costliest
films
of
India
on
a
budget
of
about
Rs
500
Crore,
are
now

to

Slashed
Prabhas-starrer
movie
failed
to
impress
the
viewers,
fans
of
the
actor,
and
critics
alike.
The
bad
output
and
negligence
of
the
filmmakers
in
various
crafts
have
made
the
movie
an
epic
disaster,
giving
a
hattrick
flop
to
Prabhas
after
Baahubali
1
&
2.
The
promotional
campaign
and
the
pre-release
event
for
Adipurush
were
humongous,
and
the
makers
left
no
stone
unturned
to
raise
expectations
for
the
film,
using
its
Hindutva
content
to
reach
out
to
the
people
in
the
country.
They
even
distributed
several
thousands
of
tickets
all
over
the
Hindi-speaking
belt,
along
with
a
few
other
places
in
the
south.
None
could
revive
the
losses
the
movie
is
continuing
to
incur
throughout
the
last
week.
Meanwhile,
the
advance
booking
rage
has
come
to
an
abrupt
end
on
the
third
day
of
the
film's
theatrical
release
owing
to
bad
word-of-mouth.
To
make
up
for
the
losses
and
to
encourage
more
viewers
to
experience
Adipurush
on
the
screen,
the
filmmakers
have
now
decided
to
offer
tickets
at
a
flat
price
of
Rs
112.
