Actor-turned-politician Nandamuri Taraka Ratna breathed his last on the evening of February 18 at Narayana Hrudayalaya hospitals in Bengaluru. The Tollywood actor, cousin to Jr NTR and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, was rushed to a hospital following a sudden heart attack due to which he collapsed on January 27 at Kuppam. Taraka Ratna had diabetes which went uncontrolled. His heart had severe blockages which left him with no chance of survival.

It was unfortunate for Taraka Ratna, who forayed into family's political party Telugu Desam to begin his career as a politician had to face the grave situation on the first day of Nara Lokesh's walkathon campaign titled 'Yuvagalam.' The 39-year-old had a long career in Tollywood, which was mostly unsuccessful. He then decided to be part of the political party to work alongside his cousin Nara Lokesh. This was his first ever public appearance after he joined the party.

Post his demise, a rare photograph of the actor from his younger days surfaced on the internet and has been doing the rounds for a reason. While it is already evident that Nandamuri Balakrishna is the heart throb of many fans who fondly refer to him as 'Balayya', and always shout slogans 'Jai Balayya', Taraka Ratna also is one of them, who looks upto his uncle, father's brother.

In the picture, we could see Tarak flexing his biceps and displaying his tattoo which is a signature of Balakrishna along with the face of a lion. The 'babai-abbai' duo shared a special bond, and Balakrishna reciprocated the same affection on his nephew. He was always in touch and supported him in whatever he did. Ever since the news of his emergency came out, Balakrishna was one person to be spotted frequently at the hospital. He even performed various religious rituals in anticipation of Taraka Ratna's revival.

Taraka Ratna acted in about 22 films and a web-series. He was married to Alekhya Reddy in 2012. He also won a Nandi Award for his performance as the villain in Ravi Babu directorial 'Amaravathi.'
