Agent On April 28: Will Akhil Akkineni Score His Second Success With Surender Reddy's Film?

Akhil Akkineni, the younger son of Nagarjuna Akkineni, is all set to hit the screens all over the world with a high-duty action thriller titled Agent.

Akhil Akkineni enjoys a good fanbase, thanks to his grandfather, father, and half-brother, who have worked hard and etched a remarkable impression on people of the Telugu-speaking states.

Agent, which is helmed by Surender Reddy is touted to be a spy action film with heavy action sequences promising an adrenaline spike. The movie stars veteran Malayalam superstar Mammotty in an important role as Colonel Mahadev.

Out of five films he has done as a solo protagonist, only one film- Most Eligible Bachelor, starring Pooja Hegde; helmed by Bommarillu Bhaskar scored a hit.

His debut film, Akhil, which was directed by VV Vinayak in the year 2015 opened amid high expectations but was reviewed as a bad film. His debut was thus a disaster. Later on, Vikram K Kumar's Hello and other films like Mr Majnu also failed at the Telugu box office.

Fans of the actor and director are expecting so much out of Agent, for the hype it is carrying around. However, a section of the fans are expressing concern about the film's success, given Akhil's previous films' performance at the box office.

Agent Premise
In the movie, Akhil Akkineni plays the role of a RAW agent Jonathan AKA Rikki. In a mission to capture 'The God' (played by Dino Morea), a most-wanted criminal, Rikki is recruited on a mission. However, Rikki's mentor, Colonel Mahadev has other plans.

Agent Cast
The film stars veteran superstar Mammootty, Bollywood actor Dino Morea, Sakshi Vaidya, Vikramjeet Virk, Denzil Smith, and Sampath Raj among others in crucial roles. Bollywood model and actress Urvashi Rautela will be seen shaking a leg for a special song titled 'Wild Saala,' which was released recently.

Agent Crew
The Agent has its story written by Vakkantham Vamsi, who is a writer-director. Another director-cinematographer Rasool Ellore cranked the camera for the film. George C Williams worked on a song. Naveen Nooli worked as the Editor while popular Kollywood music duo Hiphop Tamizha composed the entire soundtrack and score for Agent.

The movie was produced by Rambrahmam Sunkara under the AK Entertainments banner in association with Surender 2 Cinemas. The movie has been shot at various locations in and around Hyderabad, Budapest, Visakhapatnam, and Manali.
