Hanumajjayanthi celebrations began on Sunday at the Akasha Ganga Theertham where Anjaneyaswamy was born on Anjanadri Hill in Tirumala Kshetra. As part of this, abhishekam, puja with betel leaves and archana with jasmine flowers were performed at Akasha Ganga. Japali Sri Anjaneya offered silk robes to JEO Veerabrahman. Arjun Dasji Mahant of Hathiranji Math welcomed the JEO who reached the temple earlier. A large number of devotees visited Sri Anjaneyaswamy in Japali Theertha.

Devotional music programs performed at Akashaganga and Japali Tirtha in Tirumala on Sunday in honor of Hanumanjayanthi were impressive. From 9 am to 10 am artists of Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad sang Sri Rama Nama Sankeerthans. Afterwards the children chanted Hanuman Chalisa. From 10.30 am to 12 noon Dasa Sahitya Vaggeyakars sang Hanumat Sankeerthans. From 2.30 pm to 4 pm artists of Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad recited Harikatha of Anjaneyaswami.
