“Being Chiranjeevi’s Look-alike Damaged My Career,” Telugu TV star VV Rajkumar

Being a lookalike of an actor may be a dream for many. But for some, it might not turn out to be a good thing. TV star VV Raj Kumar is one of such unfortunate people, who looks just like a celebrity, but it did not turn out well for his career. Speaking in a recent interview, he opened up about how he saw a huge backset only because he looks like the megastar.

He said, "For a hero to have a successful career, he needs a breaking point. Even though I came close to that point, I could not shine brightly because I look like Chiranjeevi." He further added that his career also took a troll because he faced heavy competition from other Tamil actors such as Srikanth, Vikram, and Ajith Kumar.

Rajkumar added, "Though I started my career before all of them, they all surpassed me and became huge stars. But wherever I go, I am not getting chances just because I look like Chiranjeevi. I even tried to change the way I look by shaving my moustache. But nothing worked out. Later, I even went on to exit the whole industry and tried the Kannada film industry. But I could not become a successful star."

"I was told by many people that I was deliberately denied offers. But as far as I am in the industry, I will be happy. Whether it is for movies or TV or even YouTube, I will be happy as far as I am a part of the entertainment industry."

He, however, added that he will forever be happy for looking like Chiranjeevi. He said, "There is no denying that I love the megastar and I can only be happy for looking like him. But when it comes to career, it did not help me in any way."
