Bhola Shankar: Chiranjeevi OPENS UP About Doing Remakes; Says, 'I Asked Makers Why They Offered Me Another...'
Bhola Shankar is an official remake of the superhit Tamil film Vedalam, starring Ajith. The original was written and directed by Siva. The movie has a sister sentiment, which proved to be one of the successful formulas in the south-Indian film industry.
For Chiranjeevi, the success of Bhola Shankar is crucial as he delivered his career's biggest success yet with Waltair Veerayya. If Bhola Shankar works at the box office, it would put him back on the successful track, again.
Chiranjeevi REACTS To Doing Several Remake Films
Speaking in recent interviews with the media, Chiranjeevi opened up about doing several remake films. The 67-year-old veteran took a break in 2007 after 'Shankar Dada Zindabad.' After 10 years, he entered politics and only refrained to make special appearances in Ram Charan's films along with Varudu and Rudhramadevi.
He chose a Tamil remake of Kaththi to mark his second innings in 2017 which was titled Khaidi No 150. Later he has recently done GodFather, a remake of the Malayalam film Lucifer. Now, his next release Bhola Shankar is also a remake.
Addressing the same, Chiranjeevi said, "Many are asking me why I chose to do remakes as there are so many directors and young talent in the industry. I ask, what is wrong with a remake if the story is good? If the story has connectivity and an appeal, it can be told as many times as possible, creatively. At first, I also had inhibitions about doing remakes. In addition, GodFather was a remake too. This is a OTT generation and people may have watched everything online. But my producers told me this- what is wrong with doing a remake if the subject has the potential?
After confirming that Vedalam is not available on any OTT platform, I went ahead and signed the project."
However, Vedalam is available on YouTube and his fans and followers are creating several memes based on his speech.

Along with Chiranjeevi, Tamannaah as Advocate Lasya, and Keerthy Suresh, the movie also features Sushanth, Raghu Babu, Murali Sharma, Brahmanandam, Shawar Ali, Tarun Arora, Vennela Kishore, Sreemukhi, Bithiri Sathi, Satya, Rashmi Gautam, Getup Srinu, Uttej, and Tulasi among others in key roles.

The movie is directed by Meher Ramesh, who also wrote the screenplay. Mamidala Thirupathi wrote the dialogues for Bhola Shankar. Dudley cranked the camera and Marthand K Venkatesh worked as the film's editor. Mahathi Swara Sagar composed the film's background score and music.
Ramabrahman Sunkara and KS Rama Rao bankrolled the movie under the AK Entertainments and Creative Commercials banner. Zee Studios is distributing the movie.
