Megastar Chiranjeevi scored another disaster in the form of Bhola Shankar, a remake of superhit Tamil film Vedalam, directed in Telugu by Meher Ramesh. The movie opened worldwide on August 11 to negative response and heavy criticism.

After putting an end to his series of remakes which didn't perform well at the box office and ended up as flops, Chiranjeevi reclaimed his position as the megastar of Tollywood with this year's Sankranti release, Waltair Veerayya. The movie made about Rs 225 Crore and more worldwide.

However, the latest action entertainer Bhola Shankar again tanked at the ticket counters miserably. Against a budget of Rs 101 Crore, the movie so far could collect only Rs 23 Crore. The film produced by Anil Sunkara under AK Entertainments is barely close to the break-even point.
