Bhola Shankar: Producer Anil Sunkara Refutes Rumours Around Financial Issues With Megastar Chiranjeevi

Bhola Shankar is the latest comedy-action drama directed by Meher Ramesh featuring megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role. The movie released on August 11 worldwide to underwhelming response from fans and film buffs.

Bhola Shankar is a remake of the Tamil film Vedalam starring Ajith. It was directed by Siva and was released in 2015. Tamannaah and Keerthy Suresh are playing the two female lead characters in the film. Keerthy Suresh is playing the role of Mahalakshmi, Bhola Shankar's sister in the film.

Bhola Shankar is turning out to be a biggest disaster in the career of megastar Chiranjeevi. The movie's release day openings were better but numbers dropped drastically from the second day.

In fact, Bhola Shankar might emerge as the biggest disaster (financially) than Acharya, in which the megastar appeared along with his son Ram Charan.

After a dissapointing first weekend at the box office, on Monday (Independence Day holiday), the Telugu states share of Bhola Shankar was only Rs 18 Lakh, which can be termed as the biggest flop in Telugu cinema history.

Meanwhile, with Bhola Shankar's box office woes growing with each day, a rumour of sorts has been doing the rounds on the internet.

Producer Anil Sunkara, who makes films under the AK Entertainment banner who bankrolled Bhola Shankar is already in huge financial deficit with the loss of Akhil Akkineni's Agent. He hoped to recover from losses with Chiranjeevi's Bhola Shankar but the movie didn't end up as expected.

At this juncture, there was a piece of news that Chiranjeevi had insisted that he gets paid Rs 65 Crore as his remuneration be settled first, for which Anil Sunkara had to sell his house in Hyderabad along with other properties. In many areas, the makers opted for a own release, which incurred even bigger losses.

Now that so much damage has been happening around this news, Anil Sunkara himself decided to address the elephant in the room. He reporteldy issued a clarification. Taking to his social media accounts, he wrote, "The rumours regarding the disputes that are being circulated online are completely BASELESS and SENSELESS and don't have a single per cent of truth in them. We kindly request everyone NOT to BELIEVE such kind of news and have unnecessary discussions over it," the makers tweeted on platform X.
