Samantha's latest fantasy love story from the Mythological epic Mahabharatha, 'Shaakuntalam,' which deals with the love story of Sakuntala and Dushyanta was released all over the world on April 14. The movie opened to disastrous reviews in all languages it was released.

Shaakuntalam remained one of the top most disaster films of Samantha in her entire career. The actress, who pinned several hopes on this female-centric movie was shattered about the scale of its failure. However, she immediately made peace with the result and even posted a cryptic note in reaction to the film's result.

Meanwhile, Arohi Rao, a Telugu Telangana News channel's anchor who took part in the Bigg Boss Telugu reality show Season 6 watched Shaakuntalam. Although a bit late for a review, she shared her opinion on Samantha's Shaakuntalam through social media. There were some controversial statements in her opinion, that made her hit the news headlines.

According to Arohi Rao's Shaakuntalam review, she agreed, "There is a lag in the movie. For people who are unaware of mythology, the movie might seem like a Panchatantra story. And who all said Samantha's performance isn't nice, they must be Naga Chaitanya fans."

Arohi also said, "The story was picturized as it is without any drama. Had there been any drama, it would have been better. Arha is very nice and performed well but there are also so many who are better performers than her and awaiting an opportunity. As far as I'm concerned, the movie is not a flop."

Directed by Gunasekhar and produced by his daughter Neelima Guna under the Gunaa Teamworks in association with Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations, the movie was made on a whopping budget of Rs 50 Crore. Within a week after its release, Samantha's Shaakuntalam is struggling to earn Rs 10 Crore at the box office.
