Veteran Tollywood actor Chandra Mohan, who was a phenomenon back in the 1970-80s died following a massive cardiac arrest on November 11 in Hyderabad. He is 82 and survived by his wife Jalandhara and two daughters.

Chandra Mohan had a glorious career as an actor, hero, and character artist in Tollywood for over 55 years, which is quite remarkable and an achievement of sorts, for any actor. The veteran was known for several cult films that made actresses like Sridevi, Jaya Prada, Jayasudha, Vijayashanti, Prabha, Raadhika, and Thulasi, among others into stars and busy actresses.

Tollywood Condoles Chandra Mohan's Death

The actor was suffering from kidney-related issues and had been undergoing dialysis regularly at his home. He was under medication for a long time and restricted himself to his home after he fell sick and collapsed on a movie set a couple of years ago.

Condolences are pouring in from all corners of Tollywood, his fans, and the Telugu political fraternities. Megastar Chiranjeevi to Jr NTR, Kalyan Ram, and AP's Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, many took to their social media handles to share their thoughts about the legendary personality. Chandra Mohan's Notable Work

Despite entering the industry of Tollywood in 1966, Chandra Mohan started to do solo films as a hero in the early 1970s. For portraying the role of the lead character in Sridevi-starrer epic cult film 'Padaharella Vayasu' which was released in 1978, Chandra Mohan won the Filmfare Best Award as an actor in Telugu.

Sirisiri Muvva, Bangaru Pichuka, Ganga Manga, Chandamama Raave, Athanokkade, Atmiyulu, Seetamahalakshmi, Radha Kalyanam, Rendu Rellu Aaru, Rm Robert Rahim, there are hundreds of films that Chandra Mohan excelled as an actor over his career spanning 55 years and about 935 films.

Chandra Mohan's funeral will be held in Hyderabad on November 13 as per the Hindu Brahmin traditions. He is survived by his wife Jalandhara, and two daughters.
