Megastar
Chiranjeevi
is
in
a
happy
place
personally
and
is
ready
with
a
couple
of
projects
that
are
in
the
pre-production
stage.
The
stalwart
of
Tollywood
was
last
seen
in
Meher
Ramesh's
directorial
Bhola
Shankar.
In
one
of
his
recent
interactions
with
the
media,
Chiranjeevi
seemed
to
have
spoken
about
Superstar
Rajinikanth's
recent
industry
hit,
Jailer.
For
the
unversed,
director
Nelson's
first
choice
for
Jailer
was
none
other
than
megastar
Chiranjeevi.
After
the
narration,
Chiranjeevi
eventually
declined
the
project
as
he
didn't
want
to
go
ahead
with
the
character
of
Jailer
Muthuvel
Pandian,
which
required
him
to
play
the
role
of
a
grandfather
and
had
nothing
that
excited
the
performer
in
him.
Post
the
massive
and
unprecedented
success
of
Jailer,
the
topic
of
Chiranjeevi
losing
out
on
one
of
the
most
successful
films
surfaced
on
the
Telugu
entertainment
websites.
The
comparison
was
deep
and
huge
because
Chiranjeevi's
Vedalam
remake
titled
Bhola
Shankar
hit
the
screens
one
day
after
Jailer's
worldwide
release.
Sadly,
Bhola
Shankar
opened
to
disastrous
reviews.
The
movie
Jailer
was
made
on
a
budget
of
about
Rs
250
Crore
and
it
bagged
over
Rs
605
Crore
worldwide.
Superstar
Rajinikanth
played
the
role
of
a
retired
Jailer,
a
doting
grandfather
who
takes
things
into
his
own
hands
after
his
son's
disappearance.
During
the
interaction,
Chiranjeevi
mentioned,
"Even
I
am
tired
of
dancing
around
and
fighting
the
goons
repeatedly.
To
just
walk
stylishly,
get
the
heroic
elevations
with
RR,
remove
my
makeup,
take
the
money
home
things
just
don't
work
for
me.
It
is
not
my
condition
or
situation.
I
need
to
act,
dance,
fight
originally,
and
torture
my
body.
That
is
when
the
producers
are
happy,
the
directors
are
satisfied
and
my
fans
are
also
entertained.
That
is
how
I
am
satisfied."
Enthusiastic
Twitterati
connected
the
dots
and
came
up
with
tweets
that
remarked
on
his
words
as
an
indirect
clarification
of
why
he
had
to
lose
out
on
Jailer,
and
what
his
thoughts
are.
Superstar
Rajinikanth
earlier
said
that
he
watched
the
movie
before
RR
and
thought
it
would
be
an
average
film.
But
after
the
addition
of
RR,
the
entire
movie
got
elevated
unimaginably,
leading
to
its
success.
He
made
these
remarks
during
the
success
bash
of
Jailer.
