Dasara Day 1 Box Office: Nani's Mass Emotional Drama Opens To Insane Figures On Release Day

Dasara, a mass action emotional drama starring Natural star Nani and National award winner Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles, hit the screens all over the world on March 30. The movie is co-written and directed by a debutant director Srikanth Odela. Dasara met with a thunderous response at the box office.

Dasara depicted Nani in a never-seen-before avatar of a mass and rugged man, who boozes away all the time and is a loyal friend, who could go to the lengths of sacrificing his love. He is afraid of the dark, and cannot walk around alone at night without the help of alcohol. He and his friend Suri get entangled in a feud which leads to severe repercussions. Dharani then transforms into a person no one would've thought about.

On the opening day, Nani's Dasara made a decent Rs 6 Crore to Rs 7 Crore share from the two Telugu-speaking states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In addition, since Dasara is a pan-India venture, from all the five languages it was released in, the movie made a whopping Rs 17 Crore (Approximately).

The movie recorded the highest openings in Nani's career so far. All the tickets to earlier shows of the release day were sold out three days before the movie release, earning Nani the best pre-release business and buzz. The first-day first show's occupancy ratio was 67.54 percent, according to Sacnilk.

Nani's Dasara movie's digital streaming rights were sold off to OTT giant Netflix for a whopping price. However, the date and time of streaming is yet to be announced. Given the response after the film's release, the movie might not hit the OTT platform any time soon.

The movie is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas. The movie's cinematography and editing were handled by Sathyan Sooryan and Naveen Nooli. Santhosh Narayanan composed the film's entire background music and score.

Dasara stars Dheekshith Shetty, Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar, Shamna Kasim, Zarina Wahab, Jhansi, and Shine Tom Chacko among others in crucial roles.
