Natural star Nani unleashed his other side as an actor by portraying the character of Dharani in debutant director Srikanth Odela's mass action-emotional drama Dasara. The movie, which stars Keerthy Suresh as the female lead was released all over the world on March 30 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Upon its theatrical release, moviegoers and fans of actor Nani are lauding the director and actor Nani for their attempt.

Nani has never played any character which showcased him as a action hero. He never donned mass avatars and mouthed slang like he experimented with Dharani's character. Dasara stars Dheekshith Shetty as Suri, Samuthirakani as Shivanna, Shine Tom Chacko as China Nambi, Sai Kumar as Rajanna, who played key roles. In addition, anchor-turned-actress Jhansi was seen playing the role of Vennela's mother in the film. Zarina Wahab, Shamna Kasim and other actors were part of the film.
