Samantha Ruth Prabhu's latest youthful romantic drama Kushi opposite Vijay Deverkonda is going to hit the screens on September 1. The movie is written and directed by Shiva Nirvana. In Kushi, the actress will be seen playing the role of a lover and wife, after a long time.

Samantha focused on doing character driven and female-centric films of late. To play the character of Aradhya in Shiva Nirvana's Kushi is a challenge as her fans and viewers are used to seeing her doing roles that are stark opposite.

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha continue to amuse the fans and people of the two Telugu states even after their official divorce. Whenever their respective films get ready for release, the actors are often quizzed about their equation with each other and the reason behind their split.

According to the buzz, media channels reported that Naga Chaitanya walked out of a theatre midway after watching Samantha's Kushi trailer. The actor was reportedly upset. Going by the reports in Sakshi, Naga Chaitanya raised objections on a few entertainment websites for writing baseless news.

Shiva Nirvana earlier made a film with Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya titled Majili, which is another a mature love story that transcends from school age romance to wife and husband. The movie scored a hit.

Samantha is currently in the USA with her mother Ninette. The duo will live there for another two months where Samantha will reportedly receive treatment for her auto-immune disease, Myositis. She announced a break from work for a brief period to focus on her personal life and health.

Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya is going to play the lead in a movie titled Thandel, which is based on the Fisherman community in the coastal region of Srikakulam. Karthikeya 2 fame Chandoo Mondeti is going to helm the most-prestigious project.

In Thandel, Naga Chaitanya will play the role of a fisherman who gets caught by the Pakistan forces after entering international waters. The movie is based on a real-life incident that happened in Gujarat in 2018.

The movie's pre-production work kick-started several weeks ago. Naga Chaitanya and Chandoo Mondeti went to Srikakulam to learn the nuances of the character he will be playing in the movie. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the film's background score and tunes. Bunny Vas is producing the movie on a massive budget of Rs 70 Crore.
