Actor-Director Ravi Babu, who carved a niche for himself in the Telugu film industry has come up with another suspense thriller titled 'Asalu.' The movie recently hit the OTT platform, ETV WIN to a positive response.

Speaking about his association with Shamna Kasim, who is known as Poorna in Tollywood,

Answering a question on why he keeps casting Poorna frequently, Ravi Babu said, "I have a love affair with Poorna. But before you jump to conclusions, let me tell you, it is a love affair every director has with his actor."

How I met Poorna is, when casting for Avunu, I went to all actresses in Tollywood. They listened to the script but rejected to star. Finally, Poorna agreed to do the film. We started like that and you really have to work with her. She is a director's delight. Director expects his actors to deliver the shot with 100 percent but this girl adds 200-300 percent value. She delivers with so much concentration that we don't understand why we cannot ask for another take. That is the reason why I always approach her first."

We asked her for a role in the 'Washing Machine' movie but she said sorry. We respect that. She rejected three to four films with her. I also worked with Yami Gautam and Bhumika as well. But Poorna's acting range is so much. She is a classical dancer and that's why probably she delivers like that."

Meanwhile, Shamna Kasim welcomed her first child, a baby boy on April 4 with Dubai-based businessman husband Shanid Asif Ali. The duo tied the knot in October 2022, in Dubai.
