Writer-director Vakkantham Vamsi wielded the megaphone after a long time for a family comedy-drama. Featuring Nithiin and Sreeleela as the lead pair, titled Extra Ordinary Man, the movie was released worldwide on December 8. There was a good pre-release buzz and the theatrical trailer impressed many. Sadly, the movie couldn't live up to the expectations.

In the movie Extra Ordinary Man, Nithiin plays the role of an aspiring youngster, working as a junior artist. His father is a typical person and believes his son is good for nothing. What does the protagonist do to win his father's appreciation? His life struggles and goals are described in a narrative using loads of comedy.

On its first day of release worldwide, Nithiin's comedy action drama was expected to earn about Rs 4 Crore from all over India. However, the word-of-mouth was not so great. The Extra Ordinary Man movie got a mixed response from fans and critics upon opening worldwide on the big screens. It could only make about Rs 2.5 Crore at the box office in India.
