The movie follows the journey of Bala Subramanyam aka Box Office Balu, a middle-class guy with a stingy mentality. He is the breadwinner of the family and has an aversion to love and romance. His father tries to pass graduation to secure his ancestral wealth but he couldn't. Meanwhile, his classmate comes into his house as a paying guest and falls in love with Balu. It falls upon Balu to ensure he makes his father and his lady love pass the examinations. At this point, a hilarious challenge comes across Balu and Sarayu. How they overcome it, forms the rest of the story.
