'Hi Nanna' is Natural Star Nani's latest romantic family drama with tons of emotions between a father and daughter. The movie is written and directed by Shouryuv, who is making his directorial debut. Mrunal Thakur is the film's leading lady, coming together with Nani for the first time.

Ahead of the film's worldwide theatrical release on December 7, Nani's Hi Nanna team organized a pre-release event in Vishakapatnam on November 29. Before that, the makers of this emotional drama organized several campaigns and a bash in Hyderabad to ensure the movie reached hype. Nani also single-handedly toured several cities in India to promote the movie.

Hi Nanna Premise

The movie charts the journey of Viraj and his daughter Mahi. Viraj is a single parent and Mahi always pesters him to share more about her mother. Viraj always comes up with different stories about his past. But when he meets Yashna and his daughter grows fond of him, things begin to change. What follows next is the crux of Hi Nanna.

Hi Nanna Pre-Release Event Controversy

At the pre-release event, the only event where Mrunal Thakur took part in promoting the movie, things went slightly haywire. The event's host Suma came to Mrunal to engage her in a little fun activity. They displayed pictures of her co-stars including Nani, Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya, Vijay Deverakonda, and Rashmika Mandanna. She was asked to caption the pictures. All went well until the organizers let a picture of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna pull up, together.

A picture of the duo from their Maldives holiday was displayed on the stage. Both Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna posted the same picture from different angles on their social media handles. At first, Mrunal captioned it, "Vacation Mode On" and after Suma's intervention, she changed it to "Same Sky in the picture," which made the situation awkward.

However, all of this mess has now come up on Nani, who otherwise is getting applauded for wishing his actor-friends good luck on their December releases. The internet is also discussing the issue with several tweets circulating under the #HiNanna & #RashmikaMandanna.

Hi Nanna Cast

The movie stars Nani as Viraj, Mrunal Thakur as Yashna, Baby Kiara Khanna as Mahi, Jayaram, Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Angad Bedi, and Viraj Ashwin among others playing pivotal characters. Shruti Haasan will be seen in an extended cameo as Varsha, Viraj's ex-wife.

Written and directed by Shouryuv, the movie has dialogues penned by Nagendra Kasi. Mohan Cherukuri, Vijender Reddy, Teegala Murthy KS bankrolled the movie under the Vyra Entertainments banner. Hesham Abdul Wahab composed the film's entire background score and music. Sanu Varghese and Praveen Antony worked as the film's cinematographer and editor, respectively.
