Hombale Films To Make A Straight Telugu Film With Prashanth Neel's Story: Hombale Films is a production banner based out of Bengaluru in Karnataka, which gained international acclaim and recognition by bankrolling epic movies like Kantara and KGF Chapters 1 & 2. Vijay Kiragandur is the man behind Hombale Films along with Chaluve Gowda.

Hombale Films was founded in the year 2012. Since its inception, the production company has been active in music, buying, distributing, and digital marketing films that were made in Kannada. They slowly grew up to make full-fledged movies starting with Ninnindale in 2014 starring the late Puneeth Rajkumar.

Yash-Prashanth Neel-KGF-Hombale Films

The production banner first associated with actor Yash in the year 2015. They made a movie titled Masterpiece. Then again, the makers roped in Puneeth Rajkumar for another venture titled Raajakumara, which was the highest-grossing Kannada film at that time. The movie made about Rs 75 Crore at the Karnataka box office and was an industry hit.

With the success they saw and the energy they derived from it, the makers have roped in Prashanth Neel of Ugramm, to make a film that is nothing but KGF Chapter 1 with Rocking star Yash. The movie eventually went on to become the first film to enter the Rs 200 Crore club worldwide and made about Rs 250 Crore at the box office.

Later, they made Yuvarathnaa and then followed it up with KGF Chapter 2. They again scored an industry hit with Rishab Shetty's Kantara. Later on, they spread their wings to other neighbouring southern film industries.

Hombale Films Produces Non-Kannada Films

The makers first started with a Malayalam film starring Fahadh Faasil titled Dhoomam. The movie hit the screens recently. Then they announced Salaar with Prashanth Neel starring pan-India star Prabhas, which is a pan-India film.

Meanwhile, while still backing three projects- Yuva and Bagheera, and Richard Anthony in Kannada, the makers announced a straight Tamil film with Keerthy Suresh as the protagonist. The movie is titled Raghu Thatha. They also signed Prithviraj Sukumaran for a film titled Tyson.

Hombale Films To Make Production Debut In Telugu

Although Prabhas' Salaar is a pan-India venture and a Telugu film, it is being made bilingual. The makers have recently announced a straight Telugu film under their production and interestingly, none other than Prashanth Neel will be the writer for the film.

This Telugu movie will be directed by Srinivas Gavireddy, who earlier made Seethamma Andaalu Ramayya Sithralu and Anubhavinchu Raja. The movie is touted to be a period-action drama set against the backdrop of a forest. Other details of the cast and crew are yet to be officially announced.
