A pall of gloom descended on the Tollywood industry on November 11 as one of the legendary actors Chandra Mohan breathed his last due to a cardiac arrest.

Chandra Mohan was 82 and was admitted to the Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad where he lost his battle. The Tollywood industry's filmmakers, actors, technicians, and colleagues condoled the death of the actor, who left an irreplaceable impact on the industry through his excellent acting prowess.

Many stars and the likes including Pawan Kalyan, Trivikram Srinivas, Venkatesh, Jayasudha, Prabhas, Brahmanandam, and others paid their last respects to the veteran at his house in Filmnagar where his mortal remains were displayed. Actors Jr NTR, Allu Arjun, Sai Dharam Tej, Chiranjeevi among others tweeted messages.

Chandra Mohan worked in about 932 films over 55 years. He acted as a hero in about 175 films.

Chandra Mohan is the only actor to give industry hits during the ANR-NTR period, Krishna- Shobhan Babu period, and Rajendra Prasad-Rajasekhar era, as hero. He then shifted to character roles in the early 1990s.

Chandra Mohan, while receiving his first Golden Nandi for Best Actor Award for Rangula Ratnam asked the then Chief Minister, who gave away the award, Kasu Brahmananda Reddy to ensure his job had his career in the industry didn't take off.
