Jabardasth Punch Prasad Speaks About His Kidney Failure, Says 'I Didn't Know I Had Blood Pressure & Had To...'

Punch Prasad, is one of the popular comedians who rose to fame with Etv's iconic comedy show Jabardasth. The program gave rise to several tens of comedians who are now busy actors in Tollywood films.

He has been fighting for life after both his kidneys are tested as dysfunctional. He is getting the help of dialysis regularly. In intervals, he is taking part in the skits for Jabardasth.

The new-age comedians of the show include Faima, who took part in the Bigg Boss Telugu 6, Punch Prasad, Kevvu Karthik, Praveen, and Naveen among others. As the show has been continuing to enthrall the viewers of Telugu television for more than a decade, a few of them have fallen sick during their peak and their careers curtailed.

Punch Prasad's Wife Suneetha Stuck By His Side

One of them is Punch Prasad, who was doing well on Jabardasth. On one unfateful day, Punch Prasad was rushed to a hospital with severe health complications, only to be diagnosed with kidney failure.

Speaking about the same to an interviewer for a YouTube channel, Punch Prasad said, "I wasn't aware that I have severe Blood Pressure. I believed that a person in my age would have BP. While on the stage doing skits, I was restless and impatient which I assumed to be stress. My nose bled many a time but I didn't pay attention to it too. One day my wife took me to a hospital and then this shocking truth dawned upon me. This was before marriage but my wife Suneetha still stuck by my side by marrying me."

Operation A Must For Punch Prasad

Prasad's severe health condition was shared with the media by another Jabardasth comedian Nukaraju. Prasad has been undergoing dialysis regularly and until and unless he gets operated on, there is no guarantee for his life, said the doctors, he mentioned.

Punch Prasad Gets Aid From the Government of Andhra Pradesh

When the concerned raised a request for adequate expenses to meet the treatment costs for Punch Prasad, the government of Andhra Pradesh came forward to lend a hand. When the issue was taken to the AP CM Relief Fund wing, they responded to the request by assuring the release of a letter of credit to Prasad, at the earliest.

Fans of the comedian, his family, and colleagues are awaiting his surgery hoping for a positive outcome.
