Written and directed by Nelson, the master of dark comedy thrillers in Tamil cinema, Jailer, starring superstar Rajinikanth in the titular role is the big thing in the Indian cinema now. The movie is getting rave reviews and is on a box office rampage.

Jailer, which was released worldwide in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam on August 10, has set new box office records worldwide for a Tamil cinema. The movie is performing exceptionally well in the two Telugu-speaking states.

The movie which portrayed the veteran in a never-seen-before avatar of his grand and illustrious career, has been going on a box office rampage since its theatrical release, despite the movie's critical appeal.

The Telugu version of Rajinikanth's Jailer is continuing to win appreciation at the ticket counters even after a successful and tight first week. The regional films fell flat under Jailer's dubbed version.

Jailer Telugu Surpasses Robo's Total Share Value

The movie's Telugu version is setting new records with each passing day. The latest achievement is that Jailer has surpassed the total share value of Rajinikanth's Robo in just 10 days.

As per the available information, Robo (Enthiran)'s total Share value in Telugu version is about Rs 36 Crore. The movie written and directed by S Shankar hit the screens in 2010, and was a crazy sensation back then. Now, Jailer had surpassed the share value of Robo within just ten days flat.

Jailer Story

A retired Jailer Muthuvel Pandian goes on a manhunt to find his son's alleged killers. The road leads him to a familiar, albeit a bit darker place. How does he manage to untangle the complexities and end his mission? is to be seen on the big screen.

Jailer features an ensemble cast, and has special cameos from the neighbouring southern film industries. In the movie, Rajinikanth played the role of Muthuvel Pandian, a retired Jailer at Tihar prison. Vinayakan played the role of antagonist Varman, Ramya Krishnan as Muthu's wife, Vasanth Ravi as ACP Arjun, Muthu's son, Sunil as Blast Mohan, an actor, Yogi Babu as Vimal, a taxi driver, Nagendra Babu, Kishore, Mirnaa Menon, and VTV Ganesh among others in key roles.

Anirudh Ravichander composed the film's entire background score and music for Jailer. Vijay Kartik Kannan cranked the camera, and R Nirmal worked as the film's editor. Kalanithi Maran bankrolled the film under his Sun Pictures banners.
