Vishnu Manchu's much-hyped, high-budget film, Kannappa, a period mythological film is gearing up to go on floors shortly. The movie is the first pan-India venture being made on a budget of Rs 100 Crore. 'Mahabharat' fame Mukesh Kumar Singh is on board as the director.

The movie was officially launched after a traditional puja ceremony held on August 18 at Tirupati with Nupur Sanon as the female lead. However, she was dropped from it citing date issues. The unit is on the lookout for an actress.

Prabhas As Lord Shiva In Kannappa

Vishnu Manchu, who is also the president of the Movie Artists Association (MAA) recently confirmed the news of Prabhas' cameo in the film. Prabhas will be seen playing the role of Shiva.

Nayanthara As Parvati Opposite Prabhas?

Rumour mills suggest that the movie might feature Nayanthara as Parvati in this prestigious flick. Although there is no confirmation about the same, fans of Prabhas are thrilled with the update. The duo collaborated for the first time in 2007 for VV Vinayak's emotional action drama titled Yogi. The chemistry between Nayanthara and Prabhas met with great applause. Fans are excited about the rumour and want the jodi to come together once again.

If the rumours materialize, we might get to see the charming couple together in different avatars after 16 years. Madhubala is also part of the project's cast.

Kannappa Shooting To Kick Start In New Zealand

Vishnu Manchu, who is also the producer of the film shared a video of the set properties they got made especially from Tamil Nadu over 5 months involving 800 artisans. The entire set of props has been carefully packed in as many as 8 containers, which have been parceled to New Zealand, where the extensive and single schedule of Kannappa will take place.

Popular Star Plus serial Mahabharat fame Mukesh Kumar Singh is directing the film. Stephen Devasi along with Mani Sharma are roped in to compose the entire soundtrack for the film. Writers Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Burra Sai Madhav, and Thota Prasad are working on the script. Ava Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory are bankrolling the film.
