Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverakonda-starrer romantic entertainer Kushi hit the screens worldwide on September 1. The movie written and directed by Shiva Nirvana met with positive response at the box office from the fans and critics.

Kushi earned the much-awaited success for the lead actors and the director. The trio has been waiting for so long for a box office hit, and Kushi made them 'kushi' indeed.

Kushi Story

Viplav and Aradhya hail from different castes and backgrounds. They fall in love and get married against the decision of their parents, throwing them a challenge. Initially, things are rosy for the newlywed couple, but soon reality kicks in. Misunderstandings creep between the duo leading to a big fallout. What happens next? is to be seen.

Kushi Lip-Lock Controversy

The movie is a love story that discusses life before and after marriage. It has the lead actors Viplav and Aradhya play a sincere couple and jolted partners. It mainly features on the marital life and expectations between a couple, which is why a decent dose of onscreen romance was showcased. As part of the narration, director Shiva Nirvana ensured there are kissing scenes. However, their addition into the script didn't go down well with a section of fans.

Clarifying about the inclusion of those intimate kissing scenes between Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda, Shiva Nirvana said, "It is very essential for Aradhya's character. The movie is set on the premise of love, marriage, and children. For effectively showcasing these emotions, it is imperative to have one or two kissing scenes otherwise, how would it be reasonable for a love story. I want the movie to connect with the youth and feel they are watching a real couple(as told to Eenadu)."

The movie stars Vijay Deverakonda in the role of Viplav, Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Aradhya, Sachin Khedekar as Lenin Sathyam, Saranya Ponvannan, Murali Sharma as Chadarangam Srinivasa Rao, Lakshmi, Rohini, Vennela Kishore, Jayaram, Rahul Ramakrishna, Ali, Srikanth Iyengar, Bharath Reddy, and Sharanya Pradeep among others played pivotal roles in Kushi.
