Mamta Mohandas Shares Shocking Experience On Rajinikanth's Kathanayakudu Sets, 'My Role Got Chopped Off...'
Singer-cum-actress Mamta Mohandas revealed one such incident when she was sidelined by the entire crew just because the female lead of the film refused to share the screen with her, allegedly.
Multi-starrers
proved
to
be
successful
at
the
box
office
many
a
time,
especially
in
the
south-Indian
film
industries.
Several
actors
and
stars
from
neighboring
south-Indian
states
have
come
together
for
films
since
time
immemorial.
But
it
is
definitely
not
the
case
with
heroines
who
don't
want
to
share
the
screen
with
contemporaries,
especially
if
an
actress
enjoys
star
status.

just

In
an
interview
with
a
Telugu
YouTube
channel,
Mamta
shared
an
incident
she
had
faced
while
shooting
with
Superstar
Rajinikanth
for
the
film
Kathanayakudu
(2008).
In
her
words:
"I
came
to
that
film
shoot
from
Dubai
while
I
was
in
the
middle
of
some
other
film
shoot.
I
was
specifically
called
to
do
a
song
with
Rajini
sir.
There's
a
film
shoot
in
the
film
and
I
am
the
director.
During
the
shoot,
I
dance
with
Rajini
sir.
I
came
just
for
this
song,
left
five
days
there
since
this
is
a
big
film.
All
others
adjusted.
"When
I
reached
the
location,
there
was
an
inordinate
shooting
delay.
For
four-five
days
we
did
some
shooting
and
my
part
wasn't
there
in
the
movie.
And
I
later
heard
that
the
lead
heroine
complained
that
she
wasn't
informed
about
the
role
of
another
heroine
and
so,
she
refused
to
come
for
the
shoot.
I
was
told
this,
not
sure
if
this
is
true.
It's
what
I
heard.
But
I
know
there
was
a
shooting
delay
and
I
was
given
a
bad
attitude," she
said.
Didn't
feel
threatened
"I
didn't
feel
threatened
by
anybody
else.
Just
because
I
respect
Rajini
sir
I
went
for
the
shoot.
I
know
when
they
placed
the
camera
I
am
not
there
in
the
frame.
So
ultimately
my
part
in
the
song
didn't
happen.
My
time
was
wasted.
When
the
movie
came
out
only
a
back
shot
of
me
was
there
and
all
I
could
see
was
the
cap
I
wore.
And
of
course,
I
wasn't
disappointed.
The
time
is
different,
today's
heroines
will
make
noise
about
it.
But
then
I
just
kept
quiet.
I
got
a
call
from
Rajini
sir
a
week
later,
he
called
just
to
say
thank
you.
He
did
his
part
and
that
was
the
only
thing
under
his
control.
The
whole
team
was
good
but
they
couldn't
tell
me
what
went
wrong
trying
to
protect
somebody
else," Mamta
said.
Nayanatara
played
the
female
lead
in
the
movie
opposite
Rajinikanth,
which
was
released
in
both
Telugu
and
Tamil
languages.
