Payal Rajput and writer-director Ajay Bhupathi have come together to make a bold attempt at showcasing a psychological and physical disorder in a female protagonist, through the recently released film titled Mangalavaaram. The movie which was released on November 17 worldwide got positive reactions after it hit the screens.

After almost a month, the movie's digital streaming debut date and platform are in discussion. Earlier, Aha Video is said to have bought the OTT rights of this suspense thriller kind of movie, which also featured Priyadarshi in an important role. However, the date and platform are officially to be announced by the makers.

Mangalavaaram Premise

In a village, fear engulfs the residents who are petrified after the mysterious murders that take place every Tuesday. A young woman named Shailu becomes the center of the issue. But, Shailu already committed suicide. What happens next? Who is behind the murders? What is the mystery around Mangalavaaram and Shailu's death is what forms the crux.

The latest update on the movie's OTT release date is that it will start streaming from the last week of December, most probably on December 22. The information has it that Disney Plus Hotstar secured the multi-language streaming rights of Mangalavaaram and Aha Video possesses the Telugu rights. The official confirmation is awaited.

The movie stars Payal Rajput as Shailu aka Shailaja, Nandita Swetha as a Sub-Inspector, Divya Pillai as Rajeshwari Devi, Ravindra Vijay as an RMP, Chaitanya as Zamindaar, Ajay Ghosh as Kaasi Raju, and Sritej among others.

This movie, a dark thriller was written and directed by Ajay Bhupathi. Swathi Reddy Gunupati and Suresh Varma M bankrolled the film under the Mudhra Media Works and A Creative Works banners. B Ajaneesh Loknath composed the intriguing background score and music of the film. Sivendra Dasaradhi cranked the camera and Madhav Kumar Gullapalli worked as the Editor.
