Massraja Ravi Teja's latest romantic action drama 'Dhamaka', directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina, was released amid decent expectations from the actor's fans on December 23. The movie stars bubbly actress Sreeleela as the female lead opposite Ravi Teja. Made on a budget of Rs 40 Crore, Dhamaka joined the elite Rs 100 Crore club, marking Ravi Teja's first film to score the magical figure.
The movie was released during a good time at the theatres, where there was no competition. Although the story has no novelty in terms of freshness, the comedy, story-telling screenplay, narration, and performances have made it a successful film to watch on screen. Critics have reviewed the movie as a mediocre film. The story charts the journey of Swami, who is son of a middle-class father. On the other hand, Anand, a doppelganger of Swami has to protect the company of a multi-crore business. How Swami and Anand's lives get entangled? Who is Swami Vivekananda Chakravarthy? What is the role of Pranavi and her father, is what Dhamaka is about. The track between Rao Ramesh and Hyper Aadi evoked quite a few laughs in the theatres. Ravi Teja, who has seen a slew of flops at the box office earned a massive hit, his career-best, with Dhamaka.
Dhamaka is all set to premiere on the world television channel on March 26 at 6pm on leading Telugu entertainment channel Star Maa. The movie is available to stream digitally on Netflix.
Dhamaka stars Jayaram, Sachin Khedekar, Tanikella Bharani, Rao Ramesh, Chirag Jani, Ali, Praveen, Hyper Aadi, Pavitra Lokesh, Tulasi, Kireeti Damaraju, Sritej, Rajshree Nair, Anish Kuruvilla, Sameer, Raghu Babu, Satyam Rajesh, Krishna Bhagavaan, BVS Ravi, and Chammak Chandra among others in crucial roles.
The film's story was written by Prasanna Kumar Bezawada, who is now gearing up to debut as a director with Ravi Teja. Karthik Ghattamaneni cranked the camera and Prawin Pudi worked as its editor. Bheems Ceciroleo composed the film's entire background score and tunes. Abhishek Agarwal and TG Vishwa Prasad produced the movie under the People Media Factory and Abhishek Agarwal Arts banners.
