A sudden news about Megastar Chiranjeevi caused great sensation and distress to his fans, friends, and relatives on June 3. Reportedly, a news about Chiranjeevi being diagnosed with cancer went viral all over the internet.

The veteran actor, Ram Charan's father who scored his career's biggest and highest-grossing film with Waltair Veeraiah this year on Sankranti finally took to his social media handle to break the ice.

In a lengthy CLARIFICATION tweet, Chiranjeevi mentioned, "I went to inaugurate a cancer centre a while ago and spoke about the importance of awareness on it. I emphasized on the need to undergo medical tests at regular intervals to curb or prevent cancer. Since I was alert and underwent tests including colonoscopy, a non-cancerous polyps was diagnosed. I got it removed through a surgery. If it went undetected, it might have turned into a cancer, I said.

This entire speech was misconstrued and a few journalists and media personnel went ahead and wrote that I have been detected and survived cancer, which is false. They didn't understand the subject. These news headlines have in turn caused so much confusion and tension among my fans, well-wishers and friends who are sending me messages concerning the same. This message is just to give them a clarification from my end. I also request the media journalists to not spread false news and cause unnecessary panic. Such things might cause severe consequences."

Chiranjeevi's Work Front

On the other hand, with the unbelievable success of Waltair Veeraiah written and directed by Bobby Kolli, the megastar is back in his form, competing with his son Ram Charan, in doing films.

He will be next seen in director Meher Ramesh's venture Bholaa Shankar. In the movie, the veteran will be seen romancing Tamannaah. Actress Keerthy Suresh is playing the sister's character to Chiranjeevi in this film.
