Nani Breaks Silence On Comparisons: Dasara Would've Been A Bigger Hit Hadn't Pushpa & Rangasthalam...
Dasara movie is now the most-happening in the tinsel town. For the very first time, Nani tried pan-India, and he scored a massive success with it. What is more charming about Dasara is the fact that a debutant directed the movie. Dasara opened amid super buzz and high-expectations from fans all over the world. The movie registered Nani's career highest pre-release business and went on to make more than Rs 87 Crore at the box office worldwide.
Helmed by director Srikanth Odela, Nani's mass action emotional drama showcased the actor in a new avatar, which was never seen and expected out of him before. Nani transformed himself into a hardcore mass villager who boozes all day and is a loyal friend. His look, clothing, body language, and slang were on point for the character of Dharani he played in Dasara.
Having heard of these comparisons of Dasara with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 1 and Ram Charan's Rangasthalam, both directed by Sukumar B, Nani has to say this: "I would have done Dasara even if Rangasthalam and Pushpa didn't exist. If anything, Dasara would have become a bigger hit had it been the first such film in that raw and rustic. They've happened, and people are now comparing."
Dasara depicts Dharani as a person who is emotional, lovable, and also afraid of the dark. He goes to any lengths to protect his friends and their interests, even if it means letting go of his love. When Suri and Vennela are in love with each other, he settles scores with Vennela's mother to get them married and even wins a cricket match to let Suri get a job.
