Peddha Kapu is a surprise from a director like Srikanth Addala. He is known for making family dramas with high emotions like 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu', 'Kotta Bangaru Lokam,' and 'Brahmotsavam.' He also remade Asuran in Telugu as Narappa with Venkatesh, which might have prompted him to take up another as such.
