Prince To Vaathi: Here's Why Tollywood Producers Are Making Bee Lines To Work With Kollywood Heroes, Read On!
The lines between language and stardom also got blurred owing to the ongoing trend of pan-Indian films. Makers are ready to shell out whopping amounts to set a crazy combination of the actor-director duo and market it.
When
it
comes
to
films,
there
is
no
bar
of
the
language,
actors,
and
genre.
For
the
west,
Indian
cinema
was
only
Bollywood
until
a
couple
of
years
ago
but
regional
movie
industries
down
south
are
larger-than-life
in
terms
of
production,
budgets,
stardom,
profits,
and
business.

The

They
are

the

the

have,
by
making
bilingual

and
dubbing

Paidipalli's

Thalapati
Vijay's
'Vaarisu'
(Varasudu)
created
a
buzz
in
both
Tollywood
and
Kollywood
industries.
The
film
marks
the
Telugu
debut
of
Vijay
and
Tamil
debut
of
Dil
Raju
and
the

Turns
out,
the
film
made
a
profit
between
Rs.
30
crore
to
Rs.
40
crore
to
the
makers,
according
to
a
few
reports.
The
film,
however,
failed
to
pack
a
punch
at
the
Telugu
box
office.
If
not
for
competition
with
Megastar
Chiranjeevi's
'Waltair
Veerayya'
and
Nandamuri
Balakrishna's
'Veera
Simha
Reddy',
the
film
would
have
garnered
more
collections
at
the
Tollywood
box
office.
Meanwhile,
Varasudu
is
not
the
first
venture
to
make
the
most
of
a
Tamil
hero's
stardom
at
both
the
box
offices.

Sivakarthikeyan
is
the
first
ever
to
have
explored
the
formula
first.
Surprisingly
it
proved
to
be
a
successful
one.
The
film
produced
by
Dil
Raju,
Tollywood's
biggie
under
the
Sri
Venkateswara
Cinemas
in
collaboration
with
Suresh
Babu
of
Suresh
Productions,
was
reportedly
a
success
at
both
the
box
offices.
Though
Sivakarthikeyan
was
upset
about
the
film's
result
at
the
Tamil
Nadu
box
office,
the
Telugu
people
owned
him.
With
no
other
big
films
to
compete
with,
Sir,
is
going
to
draw
crowds
to
the
theatres
at
least
for
the
first
few
weeks.
Meanwhile,
there
are
chances
of
many
Telugu
producers
and
directors
reaching
out
to
Tamil
stars
to
repeat
the
same
formula
from
hereafter.
