The story of Ravanasura is about an investigating officer, who is appointed to solve the mystery of a series of brutal murderers. A criminal lawyer named Raindra, played by Ravi Teja, will be suspected of being the brains behind the murders. The rest of the story is all about the movie, which is to be seen on the silver screen.

Ravanasura's trailer was intriguing enough for the fans of the mass raja Ravi Teja to line up at the theatres. Post the success of Dhamaka, Ravi Teja, who faced a lot of failure films is aiming to score a hat trick hit with newfound enthusiasm. Dhamaka went on to become the first ever Rs 100 Crore grosser in Ravi Teja's career.

Ravanasura is written and directed by Sudheer Varma. Srikanth Vissa also co-wrote the film. Abhishek Nama of Abhishek Pictures bankrolled the film on a budget of Rs 50 Crore. Vijay Kartik Kannan cranked the camera and Naveen Nooli worked as its editor. Harshvardhan, Rameshwar, and Bheems Ceciroleo worked on the film's background score and music.
