RRR: India's First Oscar-Winning Film By SS Rajamouli Starring Ram Charan-Jr NTR Completes An Year Of Release!

The epic periodic action drama directed by SS Rajamouli, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, which won the country's first-ever Oscar for Naatu Naatu song under the 'Best Original Song category, completed a year of its official release. The movie hit the screens all over the world on March 25, 2022, to a thunderous response.

RRR, which was made on a budget of Rs 550 Crore has earned about Rs 1258 Crore from all over the world. The movie had an exclusive release in Japanese, where it recorded the highest footfalls and became the highest-grosser in the international films that were released in Japan. Later, on the occasion of RRR being nominated for Oscars and winning the Golden Globe Awards, the makers of the film and Variance Films, who bought the entire rights re-released the movie all over India.

When the movie was released on OTT platform Zee 5 and Netflix, it went on to set new records on respective platforms in terms of subscriptions and viewing minutes.

The RRR's official Twitter account posted a picture and wrote, "It's been a year since #RRRMovie was released and it is still running in theatres somewhere in the world, getting housefuls.

Fans of the star heroes Ram Charan and Jr NTR, fans of SS Rajamouli, and RRR celebrated the movie on social media platforms, on the occasion.

The movie also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Spandan Chaturvedi, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, Olivia Morris, Chatrapathi Sekhar, Makarand Deshpande, Rajeev Kanakala, Rahul Ramakrishna, and Edward Sonnenblick among others in crucial roles.

The movie's cinematography was handled by KK Senthil Kumar, who is a staple for SS Rajamouli's films. The music and background score of the film was composed by MM Keeravani. National award winner A Sreekar Prasad took care of the film's editing. DVV Danayya produced the movie under the DVV Entertainment banners.
