Can Prabhas’ Salaar Cross 1000Cr In India?

Prabhas has been one of the biggest superstars in the Telugu film industry and there are no second thoughts about it. The actor has several big films to his name and he has proved his mettle time and again on the big screen. After winning hearts with the Baahubali franchise, Prabhas has managed to garner fans across the world. And while his last release Adipurush failed to leave a mark, Prabhas is now making headlines for his recent release Salaar.

Helmed by Prashanth Neel, the movie also features Prithviraj Sukumaran along with Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, and Ramachandra Raju in key roles. Salaar has been an action thriller and has marked the return as a rebel star. Interestingly, Salaar has opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics and fans are in awe of Prabhas' performance.

It has managed to set the box office on fire since the first day itself and raked in Rs 95 crores in India on day 1. And while Salaar has been roaring loud at the box office, it has managed to rake in Rs 100 crores on day 2 early morning and is expected to touch Rs 180 crores overall today. On the other hand, Salaar raked in Rs 175 crores worldwide on day 1. Needless to say, there are speculations about the lifetime collections of Salaar and whether it will be able to cross Rs 1000 crores mark worldwide

Earlier, Baahubali 2, KGF 2, RRR had entered the coveted Rs 1000 crore club worldwide. However, it is important to note that the movies managed to achieve the mark owing to their phenomenal performance in Hindi language. Baahubali 2 earned Rs 510 crores nett in Hindi while RRR minted Rs 275 crores nett. On the other hand, KGF 2 raked in Rs 435 crores nett in Hindi and these collections did help them to rake in over Rs 1000 crores globally.

So, if Salaar has to enter the coveted club, it will have to leave a strong mark in Hindi language. Interestingly, Salaar witnessed a good start in Hindi and minted Rs 17 crores on day 1. It will be interesting to see how it will fare in the coming days in Hindi.

To note, Salaar has witnessed a box office clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki and has managed to crush Rajkumar Hirani's comedy drama in terms of overall numbers.
