The movie is gearing up to open on a mammoth level worldwide on December 22, after being in production for about three years.

Film's director Prashanth Neel revealed the core premise of this action entertainer while talking to an English website saying that the movie is the story of two friends and is so big that it could make up for a six-hour film. He was also quoted saying that there is good content for the second part and more than KGF, Salaar's story is meaty. I even started work on Salaar before KGF and the first part Ceasefire will unveil the first half of the journey of two friends. We will introduce Salaar to the world through the trailer."

The first part of Salaar: Ceasefire stars Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, Ramachandra Raju, Madhu Guruswamy, Saptagiri, Prudhvi Raj, Jhansi, Brahmaji, Naga Mahesh, Dubbaka Bhaskar Rao, and Gemini Suresh among other in key roles.
The movie was produced on a budget of about Rs 250 Crore by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films. Bhuvan Gowda cranked the camera and Ujwal Kulkarni worked as the editor. Ravi Basrur composed the film's background score and music.
