Salaar US Box Office: It looks like Prabhas is finally back on track after consecutive failures with his highly-anticipated comeback film, Salaar. Directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel, the film was released on December 22 and has received a lot of love from critics and fans.

Salaar marked Prashanth and Prabhas's maiden project. The film is also giving tough competition to Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki, which was released a day before on December 21. While Dunki had an opening-day debut of around Rs 30 crore, Salaar has already garnered nearly Rs 50 crore in advance sales for its first day.

Not only in India, Salaar has caused massive buzz in the US as well. As per a report, the action-drama movie has become the highest USA premiere grosser in 2024 and overthrew SS Rajamouli's giant Baahubali 2's record.

Salaar breaks Baahubali 2 opening day record in US

A report by Track Bollywood suggests that Prabhas Salaar has broken SS Rajamouli's 2017 mammoth hit Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, in which Prabhas was the lead male actor. Salaar toppled blockbusters like Jawan, Jailer, Leo, and Animal to emerge as the highest-grossing Indian film of the year.

The film has sold more than 70,000 tickets in the USA even before the official release, which means its gross collection in pre-sales stands at $1.81 million.

While no movie has been able to break Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 opening day record, which was 2.45 million in North America, Salaar has registered around 2.5 million on its debut day, which is the biggest for an Indian film.

Rajamouli's Oscar-winning flick RRR collected $3.46 million on its premiere day in the US. Meanwhile, trade experts have predicted an opening of around 4 million dollars for Salaar in the US. We have to wait and see if the film is able to achieve this remarkable feat.

Salaar's official synopsis reads, "A gang leader makes a promise to a dying friend by taking on other criminal gangs." Besides Prabhas, it also stars Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and other sin elad roels.
