"I start my every morning praying to devi and I would like to start the promotions of my new film Shaakuntalam in the temple, with devi's blessing," said Samantha.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu's upcoming period fantasy romantic drama titled 'Shaakuntalam' is all set to hit the screens on April 14, all over the world. The female-centric film is another pan-India release of the actress, who just got back in her form after disclosing her fight with Myositis disorder. The movie, directed by Gunasekhar will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The movie unit kick-started the promotions on March 15.
Taking to her social media handle, the actress uploaded a video of her visit to Sri Peddammathalli temple to seek blessings for her film. She said in a byte, "I start my every morning praying to devi and I would like to start the promotions of my new film Shaakuntalam in the temple, with devi's blessing. And all of you have shown me unbelievable support, and unbelievable strength you have given me. We are on our way right now to seek Devi's blessing for the beginning of Shaakuntalam's journey."
She wrote, "The promotions of #Shaakuntalam begins on an auspicious note with the divine blessings of Sri Peddamma Thalli ✨🙏"(sic)

Shaakuntalam Story
Shaakuntalam is based on the book written by Kalidasa, titled 'Shakuntala', which charts the love life of Shakuntala and Dushyantha.
Shaakuntalam Cast
The movie contains a plethora of renowned actors including Manchu Mohan Babu, Madhoo, and Gautami Tadimalla. In addition, actors like Dev Mohan, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta, Varshini Soundarajan, and Kabir Singh Duhan form the cast of Shaakuntalam. Allu Arjun-Sneha's daughter Allu Arha made her acting debut in the role of prince Bharatha in the film.

Produced under the Gunna Team Works banner by Neelima Guna, director Gunasekhar's daughter, the screenplay and direction is taken care of by Gunasekhar. Mani Sharma, known as the King of Melodies composed the film's music. Shekar V Joseph cranked the camera for the film. Sai Madhav Burra has penned the dialogues. Praveen Pudi worked as its editor. Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations is distributing the movie.
