Sarath Babu Death: Veteran actor Sarath Babu breathed his last in a hospital in Hyderabad. After being treated for multiple organ dysfunction, the septuagenarian was pronounced dead on May 22, 2023.

In one of the interviews from the past, Sarath Babu was quoted saying to Eenadu about his early life, teenage, love stories, marriage, and film career. Here are a few excerpts from the same below.

Sarath Babu is one among the 13 siblings of his parents Vijayasankara Deekshithulu and Suseela Devi, who are settled in Amudalavalasa, Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh. He was named Satyanarayana Deekshithulu.

When pursuing a bachelor's degree in B.Sc, he enacted a character in the stageplay titled 'Dongaatakam.' It was a super success back then and the appreciation gave Sarath Babu a new confidence and hope. After the appreciation and support from friends, Sarath Babu landed in Chennai (then Madras) in search of opportunities.

Sarath Babu's family runs a hotel named 'Gowri Sankar' which was quite popular and a successful venture. He along with his elder brother took care of the hotel after completing graduation, before going to Madras.

Sarath Babu then sent his profiles to his favourite director Adurthi Subbarao. He replied with a letter asking him to appear for an interview. While awaiting a call from Adurthi, RamaVijetha Productions gave him the first opportunity. That is when Sarath Babu debuted with the Ramarajyam movie in which he shared the screen space with JK Jaggayya, SV Rangarao, Chandrakala, Savithri, and others. The movie earned him recognition and popularity.

In the year 1974, Sarath Babu played an antagonist role in the movie Nomu. He shared that the flow of negative characters made him feel uncomfortable.

Sarath Babu worked predominantly with renowned director Balachander starting with Nizhal Nijamagiradhu. He was seen in almost every film of the veteran.

Sarath Babu worked in more than 250 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. He not only played villainous roles but also was a great actor who played remarkable character roles.

He got married twice and the first one was with veteran actress Rama Prabha. They lived together for about ten years before getting legally separated. Their divorce was intriguing and was widely spoken of, during that time.

Sarath Babu re-married a journalist recently, in a hush-hush wedding.

Sarath Babu was first admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru before he flew down to Hyderabad, where he was again admitted. He was getting treated for multiple ailments due to his age.
