Shaakuntalam: Samantha Picked-Up THIS Ornament From Specially Curated Gemstone & Diamond Jewelry For The Film

Samantha Ruth Prabhu's latest epic periodic fantasy drama 'Shaakuntalam,' written and directed by Gunasekhar is hitting the screens all over the world on April 13. The movie, which is a pan-Indian film made on a whopping budget is releasing in five languages. The makers of the movie organized premieres in Hyderabad as part of promotions to generate buzz ahead of the release. However, Shaakuntalam gained mixed reviews from fans and critics.

Nevertheless, Samantha enjoys a huge fanbase and all her hardcore fans are praising her performance and depiction of Kalidasa's 'Shakuntala' like in 'Abhignana Saakunthalam.' Samantha herself said that she couldn't believe that she could pull off this role after Raaji and Vaembu, given the fact that Shakuntala is all about grace, feminity, and poise. "I am not confident about it and I doubt if I can pull off that role with such grace, but then, that is what I do, I challenge myself every day for each shot and every character I play. If it scares me, I should do it."

Meanwhile, what caught the attention of the fans and viewers is Samantha's elaborate costumes and exclusively curated ornate jewelry. Her costumes were designed by veteran fashion designer Neeta Lulla.

Vasundhara Diamond Roof, a luxury jewelry house designed the entire jewelry for Shaakuntalam, including for other actors who played other characters. Each piece of jewelry was crafted in gold with precious gemstones. The jewelry is unique and speaking about the entire experience, the designer of the jewelry said, "To create all of these designs from scratch, it took us a good time and a committed workforce. We started before the lockdown and the karigars were made to work in-house. The output was fantastic and we are thrilled about the display."

She also added, "Samantha personally liked a bracelet with Deers engraved on it along with some forest-inspired designs. She picked up that bracelet for herself from the entire collection."

Shaakuntalam stars Dev Mohan, Sachin Khedekar, Mohan Babu, Gautami Tadimalla, Madhoo, Aditi Nagalla, Prakash Raj, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshnu Sengupta, Kabir Duhan Singh, Varshini Sounderajan, Harish Uthaman, Subbaraju, Aadarsh Balakrishna, and Yash Puri in key roles. Allu Arha, Allu Arjun's daugther made her acting debut in the role of Young Bharatha.

Dil Raju is presenting the film under the Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Neelima Guna produced the movie under the Gunaa Teamworks banner. Sekhar V Joseph and Prawin Pudi worked as Shaakuntalam's cinematographer and editor respectively. Swara Brahma Mani Sharma composed the film's entire background score and tunes, which gained a positive response.
