Skanda: Ram Pothineni's Epic Transformation For Boyapati's Mass Action Film Will Surprise You; PICS Inside

Skanda is a high-octane mass-action drama that has a backdrop of family sentiments. The movie will be released on September 28 worldwide. It stars Ram Pothineni and Tollywood's most sought-after beauty Sreeleela as the leading pair.

Skanda brings together the unique combination of Ram Pothineni and mass ka baap director Boyapati Sreenu. The duo surprised fans and industry insiders when they announced 'BoyapatiRAPO.' Finally, the movie is releasing tomorrow in five languages, marking the first pan-India release of Ram Pothineni.

Ram Pothineni's Boyapati Mark Mass Makeover

For the movie, Ram Pothineni was seen on his heavier side, in fact, the most beefed up look in his entire career, for the very first time. The actor underwent a rigorous regimen to look the part for the role of Bhaskar in Skanda.

Ram enjoys a chocolate boy and guy-next-door image in Tollywood. He is undoubtedly one of the most loved actors and is a heartthrob to many girls. However, the actor changed tracks and tried mass characters starting with Puri Jagannadh's iSmart Shankar, which is a box office success. For the movie, Ram underwent a total makeover. Later, he did another such film with a toned makeover in his first bilingual titled The Warriorr.

But for Skanda, Ram sported an entirely different look which is intimidating and fierce. Reportedly, the actor picked up weights and trained hard alongside eating a high-protein diet to put on about 12 kilos, for the role. He began at 72 and weighed 84 to start filming for Skanda.

In the film, Ram is seen as a person who avenges his family and takes on the goons in the most menacing way, that only Boyapati can imagine and bring to life. The theatrical trailer of the film has amplified expectations before it hit the screens.

Skanda stars Ram Pothineni, Sreeleela, Srikanth Meka, Daggubati Raja, Prince Cecil, Gautami Tadimalla, and Indraja among others in important characters.

Skanda is bankrolled by Srinivasaa Chitturi under the Srinivasaa Silver Screen banner. Thaman S composed the film's entire background score and music. Tammiraju worked as the editor. Santosh Detake cranked the camera for Skanda.
