Three Tequila Shots & Coconut Water In Vodka All-Day, Anand Deverakonda's Prep For His Role In Baby, Deets In!
Baby movie is the biggest success for the entire team of the film, written and directed by Sai Rajesh, who won a National Award as the producer. The movie which was released to an overwhelming response from the film buffs and critics on July 14 worldwide, is setting records at the box office.
Speaking at the blockbuster success meet, Baby's writer-director Sai Rajesh mentioned how he made the actors come on board, prepare for their characters, and what he did to make Vaishnavi Chaitanya sign up for the project. I am very proud and happy for these three actors, who gave their all for Baby, he said.
An emotional and proud Rajesh went on to say, "Anand did whatever I asked him to do for Baby. He came on board saying, 'Brother, you believed me and trusted me when no one believed me. I will do whatever you want me to do.' Every morning, he came to the set by 6 am, and on an empty stomach, I made him drink three shots of tequila. We mixed Vodka with Coconut water in the mid-summer for the desired effect and asked him to consume it throughout the day. By the time he approached a shot, he felt and looked depressed. Today, people are crying in the theatres and the efforts paid off."
More than anything, I worried so much for Vaishnavi's career. She was happily employed and was working in Jubilee Hills. She literally cried while signing the agreement, unable to comprehend what is going to happen to her image and career. We offered her two more films under our banner, irrespective of Baby's success, and included this clause in the agreement. Due to financial struggles, she moved to Attapur in these three years. We couldn't do anything about it until the movie could release.
Addressing Vaishnavi, Sai Rajesh continued, "There will always be negativity. But don't take it seriously. You will feel better later on. When Ramya Krishna did Padayappa, people burned her cut-outs. This negativity will not matter in the future."
"Viraj, you didn't mind letting your co-stars take the limelight in the promotional posters and me unable to give your character a proper end due to the film's length. It is very nice of you. You are all set to get going from now on," added Sai Rajesh.
