Tollywood 2023: Three Back-To-Back Disasters For The Mega Heroes Within 27 Days, Fans Disheartened!

The year 2023 has been quite a glorious one for the Telugu film industry. Several films, actors, technicians and filmmakers have earned massive hits, recognition, and fame.

From films which are made by renowned directors, producers featuring stars of the industry to the new comers and low-budget concept-based movies, Tollywood is dotted with several surprise hits.

The bonanza began with megastar Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya and Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy taking the box office by storm with their mass hits. Waltair Veerayya emerged as the Sankranthi winner.

In addition, films like Dasara, which showcased Nani in an all-new mass avatar, Dhanush's Telugu debut and bilingual Sir, Virupaksha, Samajavaragamana, Baby, Balagam, Writer Padmabhushan, Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnukatha, Das Ka Dhamki, etc have won laurels and spinned money at the box office.

Megafans are elated for several reasons this year as Ram Charan and Upasana welcomed their first child, Klin Kaara. Also, Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Sai Dharam Tej had two releases this year, which was exciting for them.

Three Back-To-Back Flops For Mega Heroes

BRO

The flop streak began with Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej's Telugu remake film BRO aka BRO The Avatar, which is based on Vinodhaya Sitham. Writer-director Samuthirakani helmed the Telugu version with Trivikram Srinivas writing the screenplay and tweaking the story for Telugu viewers. The movie couldn't achieve break-even and remained a flop.

Bhola Shankar

The megastar enthralled the viewers with Waltair Veerayya in the beginning of the year. The movie written and directed by Bobby Kolli became his biggest and career's best film. However, Chiranjeevi's recent release, Bhola Shankar, a remake of Vedhalam, turned out to be his career's biggest mistake. The movie is a disaster.

Gandeevadhari Arjuna

Varun Tej's latest release, Gandeevadhari Arjuna, an action entertainer co-written and directed by Praveen Sattaru opened to mixed reaction. The first day box office collection is estimated to be only Rs 1 Crore. The movie's future looks bleak.

Megafans' excitement turned into a big disappointment as the heroes secured consecutive flops at the box office within a month's time.
