Tollywood's soon-to-be couple Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi are back in the entertainment headlines. The 33-year-old actor finally spilt the beans about his lady love for the first time.

Varun Tej is gearing up to hit the screens with Gandeevadhari Arjuna, a high-octane action thriller under the direction of Praveen Sattaru, on August 25. The actor who is promoting his film opened up about Lavanya Tripathi for the first time to the media.

Varun Tej: Lavanya Knows What I Like & What I Need

On the occasion, Varun Tej was quoted saying, "We both have been good friends for five to six years. She knows what I like and what I need. I proposed love first. Both our families approved our decision. Just like our engagement, the marriage will also be very simple."

When quizzed about what Lavanya had gifted him, Varun replied, "The phone I am using now is gifted by her. She gave me several other gifts."

He further elaborated, "Lavanya is one of my best friends. She is a mature and caring person. Why we kept our personal lives to ourselves because we like to keep our private life out of the public eye."

After dating for several years, the duo who maintained secrecy finally made it official by exchanging engagement rings with their close family members on June 9, 2023, in Hyderabad. The endearing event took place at Varun Tej's father Naga Babu's house in the Manikonda area.

Allu Arjun and his wife Sneha Reddy, Ram Charan and his wife Upasana, Chiranjeevi and his wife Surekha, Pawan Kalyan, the mega cousins- Niharika Konidela, Varun's sister, Sai Dharam Tej, Vaisshnav Tej, Sreeja Konidela, and Sushmita among others attended the event.

Pictures from their simple and soothing engagement event dotted the social media platforms and the internet on the day as the couple officially shared them on their handles respectively.

The duo is set to enter wedlock in November, reportedly. If the rumours and buzz are to be believed, they are set to tie the knot the traditional way in Italy, the place which is close to them. Only a few, about 50 members will be taking part in the destination wedding. A grand reception will be thrown for the Tollywood celebrities and friends of the families.

Varun Tej's film Gandeevadhari Arjuna is going to hit the screens worldwide on August 25. The film's censor formalities have been completed and it was awarded U/A certification. This film is directed by Praveen Sattaru and Sakshi Vaidya of Agent Fame is the female lead. Kollywood actor Vinay Rai is the antagonist.

Lavanya Tripathi's Work Front

Meanwhile, Lavayana has only one project in her hand currently.
She will be seen in the Tamil action thriller Thanal alongside Atharvaa. The film will be directed by debut director Ravindra Madhava. Her recent venture, Meka Puli, a Telugu web series was a success.
