Starring Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha Menon as the lead characters, along with a set of notable actors playing important roles in the film, Virupaksha is a supernatural thriller that hit the screens on April 21.

Virupaksha is written and directed by Karthik Dandu. It marks the pan-India debut of Sai Dharam Tej, who made a comeback to films following a personal hiatus. Upon its theatrical release all over the world in five languages, Virupaksha is gaining massive positive reviews and good word-of-mouth. Karthik Dandu made his directorial debut with Virupaksha, who earlier worked with director Sukumar B.

Sai Dharam Tej is plays the role of Surya, an inquisitive person who believes in Science and logic other than superstitions. He is also a Doctorr. He enters a prohibited village where mysterious deaths occur and embarks on a mission to crack the mystery open when his girlfriend is possessed by the entity.

Sai Dharam Tej had reclaimed his market with a bigger and better force after his set back due to a road accident. It was a tough phase for the actor to bounce back to normalcy. However, with Virupaksha, Sai Dharam Tej set a record of sorts by increasing his value as a tier two hero in Tollywood. The movie registered his career's best numbers in terms of theatrical and non-theatrical rights business.

Kannada Film Industry's most sought-after musician B Ajaneesh Loknath, who worked on films like Kantara, Vikrant Rona, etc, has composed the film's music and score. Director Sukumar Bandreddi is also one of the co-producers of the movie; has also written the screenplay of Virupaksha. Bhogavalli Bapineedu and BVSS Prasad produced the movie under the Sri Venkateshwara Cine Chitra banner.

Karthik Dandu directed the movie. Shamdat and Navin Nooli have worked as the film's Cinematographer and Editor, respectively.
