Director Yeleti Chandrasekhar is a renowned name in the Tollywood film industry. The maverick director is a few of the filmmakers who chose a path less explored. The director turned 50 on March 4, 2023. Born in Tuni, Andhra Pradesh, Yeleti Chandrasekhar successfully made a mark in the Indian, especially Telugu film industry as a writer-director.
Before becoming the mainstream film director, Yeleti worked as a writer and an assistant director to the famous Gunnam Gangaraju. They worked together on 'Little Soldiers,' and then the epic comedy Telugu serial-Amrutham. Yeleti is known for working on his own terms and has so far made only seven movies and wrote screenplay only for another film. He made his first film 'Aithe' on a budget of Rs 1.5 Crore in 2003, which went on to collect Rs 6 Crore. Aithe
Is a movie made in the year 2003 with a limited cast. The movie is produced by Yeleti's cousin Gunnam Gangaraju and Venkat Dega under the Just Yellow Media. KK Senthil Kumar debuted as the cinematographer of the movie. Kalyani Malik composed the film's music. Aithe is a commercially and critically successful film.
Anukokunda Oka Roju
Starring Charmme Kaur, Jagapathi Babu, Shashank, Pavan Malhotra, and Vasu Inturi in key roles, the movie was released in 2005. It was a silent hit. It is considered as one of the best movies made in Telugu for thrill seeking viewers till today. This is another neo-noir mystery film which won Singer Smitha a Filmfare award. However, the movie was commercially unsuccessful.
Okkadunnadu
This movie was released in the year 2007, this movie was one of the first of its kind. Mahesh Manjrekar, and Neha Jhulka are part of the film, and MM Keeravani composed its music. The movie was a successful film with critics and moviegoers praising it. Ace director Koratala Siva wrote dialogues for this film.
Prayanam
Prayanam is a unique film starring Manchu Manoj and Payal Ghosh in the lead roles. The movie was released in 2009, and was considered a good movie although it didn't perform commercially at the box office. The movie garnered acclaim to Manchu Manoj as an actor.

The weekend serial on Telugu television that remains one of the classic and most-favourite of every Telugu-speaking person is 'Amrutham.' The sitcom aired on Gemini TV for six years and 313 episodes. Created by Gunnam Gangaraju, the serial's first ten episodes were directed by Yeleti.
