Amid the roaring success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, Allu Arjun (Bunny) has been taken to police custody in connection with death of a woman in the stampede during the screening of Pushpa 2 at the Sandhya Theatre.

Police Commissioner Confirms Allu Arjun's Arrest In Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case

On Friday (December 13), Allu Arjun got arrested in the tragic Sandhya Theatre stampede case and was taken to Chikkadpally Police Station for questioning. Later, C.V. Anand, the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, officially confirmed the arrest of the Telugu star.

As reported by India Today, an official form the Chikkadpally Police Station stated, "The lack of communication and preparation led to the chaos, resulting in this tragic loss of life. (sic)".

According to reports, multiples cases have been registered against Pushpa 2 actor Allu Arjun, along with his security team and the management team of Sandhya Theatre, under sections 105, 118 (1) along with a non-bailable case with 3/5 BNS section. If the charges are proved, the accused might face imprisonment for 5 to 10 years. On the other hand, BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) 118 (1) deals with the possibility of behind behind the bars for one to ten years. For those uninitiated, these charges do not amount to murder and voluntarily causing hurt.

What Exactly Happened At The Sandhya Theatre?

It all happened during the screening of Allu Arjun's latest blockbuster Pushpa 2 on 4th December when things turned chaotic as Allu Arjun attended the event, alongside music director DSP (Devi Sri Prasad), and thousands of people gathered to catch a glimpse of the star.

Due to the massive crowd, the theatre's main gate collapsed and a 35-year-old woman lost her life. Her 9-year-old son also sustained several serious injuries.
