Amaran Telugu Box Office Collection Day 5: Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, 'Amaran' is the action war biographical film based on the life of the late Major Mukund Varadarajan, played by Sivakarthikeyan. The movie was inspired by 'India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military' written by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh.
The movie was made on a budget of Rs 200 Crore with Sai Pallavi playing a solid role again. Kamal Haasan bankrolled the movie under his production banner Raaj Kamal Films in association with Sony Pictures Films India. The movie already surpassed Rs 85 Crore in India from all the languages it was released in. The worldwide collection is close to making a record. Upon its theatrical release, the movie Amaran was received well by the Telugu audiences, the actors' fans, and critics alike.

Along with Sivakarthikeyan who plays the role of Major Mukund 'Maddy' Varadarajan, the movie stars Sai Pallavi as Indhu Rebecca Varghese, Mukund's wife, Bhuvan Arora as Vikram Singh, Rahul Bose as Colonel Amit Singh Dabas, Lallu as Ravi Shankar, Shreekumar as Michael, Shyam Mohan as Indhu's brother, Ajaey Naga Raaman, Mir Salmaan, and Gaurav Venkatesh among others in key roles.
