Bharateeyudu 2 Box Office Collection Prediction Day 5: The highly-awaited sequel to Indian (1996), Indian 2 was released in Telugu as Bharateeyudu 2 on July 12. Starring Kamal Haasan as the epic 'Senapathy,' who is a freedom fighter-turned vigilante in a corruption-ridden society, was released to negative feedback unanimously. Unfortunately, the low-key buzz surrounding the film is scaring the fans who have pinned high hopes on this sequel from Kamal Haasan and Shankar.

Bharateeyudu 2 Synopsis

Senapathy, a freedom fighter-turned-vigilante is living in Taipei, Hong Kong. Back in India, a few youngsters who are inspired by Senapathy's legacy fight against corruption by making videos of the corrupt leaders and exposing them online under the leadership of Chitra Aravindhan (Siddharth). Senapathy comes to know about the unprecedented and overpowered corruption that is ruling the country and decides to return to India.

The movie starring a plethora of notable actors along with Kamal Haasan as Senapathy failed miserably at the box office from the time it premiered in the overseas. With negative reviews coming in from all corners, Kamal Haasan-Shankar's hyped sequel is not a befitting one and the number of bookings for Bharateeyudu 2 have started to fall from the next day. In the first week after opening weekend, there were only 10,000 tickets sold on Monday (July 15) in Telugu, Hyderabad. The occupancy ratio fell drastically. This vigilante action film sequel stars Kamal Haasan as Veerasekaran Senapathy aka Indian. In addition, the movie stars S.J. Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Nedumudi Venu as Krishnaswamy IPS, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Brahmanandam, Zakir Hussain, Piyush Mishra, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Deepa Shankar, Anant Mahadevan, George Maryan, Vinod Sagar, Akhilendra Mishra, and Benedict Garrett among others in key roles for various versions. Late Vivek, G Marimuthu, and Manobala will be part of the film as the makers wanted to leave their portions intact.

Written and directed by S Shankar, the sequel titled Indian 2 is being helmed by Subaskaran Allirajah and Udhayanidhi Stalin under their Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies banners on an approximate budget of Rs 250 Crore. Ravi Varma is cranking the camera and A. Sreekar Prasad is the film's editor. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the film's entire background score and music.
