Devara Box Office Collection Day 6: Jr NTR starrer Devara Part 1 has been unstoppable in the first week and there are no second thoughts about it. Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara marked Jr NTR's return to the big screen two years after his last blockbuster hit RRR and the fans can't keep calm about it. The movie also features Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Shine Tom Chacko, Shruti Marathe, Srikanth, Narain, Kalaiyarasan and Murali Sharma in key roles. Devara Part 1 happens to be an action drama and has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
Interestingly, Devara Part 1 features Jr NTR in a double role of a father and son while Janhvi is seen romancing the Telugu superstar in their first collaboration. This isn't all. Saif Ali Khan, who also made his debut in the Telugu industry with Devara, played a negative role in the movie. For the uninitiated, Devara Part 1 narrates the story of a fearless man who never fails to stand up for his people and locks horns with his brother Bhaira after the latter is exposed for smuggling deadly weapons. As Devara opened to rave reviews, it saw a good start at the box office.
Devara Part 1 Box Office Collection Day 6 Update
After recording an opening day box office collection of Rs 82.5 crores, Devara saw a massive drop in numbers on day 2. In fact, the first Monday came with another drop in collection as well. After minting Rs 14 crores on day 5 (first Tuesday), Devara has reportedly earned Rs 20.50 crores on day 6 (first Wednesday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 207.85 crores.
Did Devara Part 1 Beat Kalki 2898 AD?
Interestingly, Devara has been witnessing a frequent comparison with Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD which featured Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. And given the impressive hike Devara saw on first Wednesday, there have been speculations if Devara managed to beat Kalki 2898 AD. Well, there has been a slight difference between the two. While Devara raked in Rs 20.50 crores on first Wednesday, the number was Rs 22.25 for Kalki 2898 AD.
Meanwhile, Saif opened up about his experience of working with Jr NTR for the first time and said that while the RRR star becomes a larger than life person in front of the camera, he goes back to being a normal fun person soon after the shot. The Nawab of Pataudi also emphasised that he had a lot of fun working with the Telugu star.
