Superstar Mahesh Babu's much-anticipated Sankranti release Guntur Kaaram hit the screens worldwide on January 12. Written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the movie registered a record opening for the actor in the USA and in India with its pre-sales and advance bookings.

Sreeleela was paired opposite Mahesh Babu for the first time and Guntur Kaaram also marks the third collaboration of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas. However, due to a very poor story and narrative, fans have started expressing dissatisfaction with Guntur Kaaram.

Guntur Kaaram Premise

Ramana (Mahesh Babu) lives with his father Satyam (Jayaram) after his mother Vasundhara (Ramya Krishnan) estranges him. She also bears witness to a murder committed by Satyam, sending him to jail. Meanwhile, Ramana is summoned by his maternal grandfather Venkata Swamy (Prakash Raj) to sign documents that deny any property rights. He demands to see his mother Vasundhara, who is now re-married.
